New Rochelle High School Alumnus and All-Star pitcher Josiah Gray recently returned to his hometown for a “PLAY BALL” experience hosted by Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle (BGCNR) and organized by JustinTime Baseball and Major League Baseball.
Elementary and middle school youth participated in introductory-level baseball and softball activities to encourage greater accessibility to the sport and demonstrate the many ways the game may be played. They also received bat and ball sets and commemorative PLAY BALL t-shirts.
The highlight of the afternoon for the youngsters was meeting the Washington Nationals pitcher, who helped guide the young players in drills, signing their T-shirts at the end of the event. Also on hand was MLB’s newest PLAY BALL ambassador, Justin Sherman, and Pete Annunziata, New Rochelle High School, varsity baseball coach who coached Josiah during his high school career.

Lo más destacado de la tarde para los jóvenes fue conocer al lanzador de los Nacionales de Washington, quien ayudó a guiar a los jóvenes jugadores en los ejercicios, firmando sus camisetas al final del evento. También estuvieron presentes el nuevo embajador de PLAY BALL de la MLB, Justin Sherman, y Pete Annunziata, entrenador universitario de béisbol de la escuela secundaria New Rochelle que entrenó a Josiah durante su carrera en la escuela secundaria.
