The results for the Westchester-Rockland Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (WR-JSHS) are in, and New Rochelle High School Science Research Program students again were stars!
Four seniors took home top awards:- Local Division: Jobin Binu Daniel, first place, Physical Sciences; Riley Fullerton, second place, Behavior
- Regional Division: Julia Yang, third place, Cellular & Molecular Biology; Izzy Balachandran, fifth place, Cellular & Molecular Biology
Yang advances to the state level and will present her research at Upstate Junior Science and Humanities Symposium at the University at Albany in March. She said her favorite aspect of the symposium was “watching everyone’s projects… it was amazing to see how everyone was able to overcome the challenges of not doing labs in person and create online projects.” For Binu Daniel, “All the hard work and dedication that was put into this JSHS presentation paid off in the end. I felt so accomplished when I saw my name in the awards ceremony.”
